Hi! I’m Akash Mohan.

I am Akash Mohan, a counselling psychologist, queer affirmative practitioner and a trained trauma-informed mental health practitioner. This space exists for people who live at the intersections of caste, queerness, trauma, gender, grief and resistance. Therapy here is a conversation and a co-creation rather than a diagnosis or a direction. It is a place to come home to yourself rather than escape from yourself.

A little bit of context about my work.

Therapy Beyond Labels

Therapy Beyond Labels is rooted in post modern, narrative and anti oppressive frameworks. It recognises that distress often comes from what has happened to you and the systems you inhabit, not from what is wrong with you. Together we explore your stories, contexts and relationships to find meaning and possibilities. You will not find checklists or predefined boxes. You will find listening, collaboration and care.

Services I Offer for Personal and Collective Wellbeing

 ̑Individual Counselling/Psychotherapy

Collaborative, trauma-informed, and queer-affirmative therapeutic support for individuals navigating mental health concerns, identity questions, trauma histories, and experiences shaped by systemic oppression.

Couples and Relational Counselling

Inclusive and context-sensitive counselling for couples and relationship constellations, with a focus on affirming diverse identities, consensual non-monogamy, communication, and intimacy—grounded in trauma-informed and queer-affirmative frameworks.

Advocacy, Training, Supervision, and Internship Mentorship

Capacity-building initiatives that centre anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and queer-affirmative paradigms—offering structured training, reflective supervision, and mentorship to early-career practitioners and institutions.

External Consultation and Systemic Engagement

Consultative support for organizations, collectives, and educational institutions seeking to embed mental health equity, trauma-informed practices, and LGBTQIA+ inclusion into their systems, policies, and programs.

“This is not neutral ground. It’s chosen ground. A space where power is named, context is honored, and you are never asked to leave parts of yourself at the door.”
